Painted.'s Soft Opening

By Jennifer Sharp

What a fantastic soft opening Painted. in Palladio had the weekend of January 25th-26th! More than 60 guests came to sip wine, test their painting skills, and shop retail.
Starting on Friday night, local artist Jenn Sharp guided 30+ Picassos through the painting 'City Lights', while artists sipped local wines from around California.
Sera Fina, a local winery out of Amador was pouring tastings of Zinfandel, Barbera, Dancing Grape, and N.A.P.A. All wines were well liked, but the Barbera was the obvious winner for the peoples choice award.
Also present was videographer Christian D'Acosta, who took over 3,000 photographs to produce what will be Painted.'s stop-motion video to be displayed at the studio and on the website www.paintedfolsom.com.
ZOOM magazine, the local newspaper also showed up ready to see what Painted. was all about!
Saturday night was a huge success as well. Local artist Katie Richardson guided painters through 'Liquid Elation', where all the painters were really able to release some creativity. Most were just glad they had wine to support them through painting the 'surfer' portion of the masterpiece! We celebrated two birthdays: Shirley Hughey and Elizabeth Gallivan, we supported a fantastic girls night out, a few stellar date nights, and some that were just there to sip on the wine!
Painted.'s soft opening turned out to be a fabulous painting workshop for some, and just a great night out for others that were looking to do something 'outside the box' in Folsom!
